Why Jesus?

Jesus went from having 12 disciples to over 2 billion followers today. That’s pretty amazing for someone who had no money and no army. He didn’t gain His influence by human means but instead He did it through love, humility, and peace, as He traveled about helping, healing, and giving hope to those in need.

What Does Jesus Have to Offer?

Jesus offers hope for the hopeless, peace for the troubled, and a new life for the broken and dissatisfied. He invites us into a new kingdom where He promises to make all things right, whole, and beautiful when He returns. This kingdom is an upside-down kingdom where the last shall be first, true greatness comes from serving others, and everyone—including enemies—is to be loved. He pledges to give meaning and purpose to every life and offers eternal life in God’s presence forever to all who will believe in Him. Jesus desires a relationship with you, not just for you to follow a bunch of impossible rules. He offers you something far better: “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life” (John 10:10).

What Makes Jesus Different?

First, Jesus loves everyone just the way they are. He often sought out people who were lost, rejected, and abandoned—those who fell short of the religious and cultural standards of the day. Unlike others, Jesus accepted and loved all people unconditionally. Second, Jesus not only loved, He became the path for acceptance and making peace with God. His only request is for us to believe in Him and be willing to acknowledge our faith in Him. Jesus came to Earth on the greatest rescue mission, sacrificing His life for all those who have ignored God or broken His Commandments—which includes every one of us. He offers a renewed life now and a better life in Heaven later to all those who will trust in Him. He has already paid the price and done everything necessary. “We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are” (Romans 3:22 NLT).

How Can I Know Jesus Is God?

Many people in history have said they were special, and Jesus did, too. He said He would die and then come back to life three days later to prove He is God. And He did! After coming back to life, over 500 people saw Him. This confirms that what Jesus said about being God is true. Jesus proved He was the promised Savior, one who was both fully human and divine. What difference does it make? Only a divine Savior could save us, for only He could become the perfect and final sacrifice for our sins. He fully understands our weaknesses and struggles, and He also has divine power to help us and transform our lives.

The Greatest Offer of All Time

Jesus actually makes the most amazing offer of all time: He proposes a trade: your sins for a new life that leads to Heaven. You give him all your sins, failures, regrets, sorrows, burdens, addictions, bad habits, pain, and mistakes; in return, He grants you all that is desirable and worth having, things that can never be taken away. He has made the sacrifice for us and now wants to have a personal relationship with you. “Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ” (Ephesians 2:13).

What’s stopping you from accepting the greatest offer of all time?

Step 1 – God’s Purpose: Peace and Life

God loves you and wants you to experience peace and eternal life—abundant and eternal.

The Bible says:

"We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
Romans 5:1

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

"I [Jesus] came that they may have life and have it abundantly."
John 10:10

Why don’t most people have this peace and abundant life that God planned for us to have?

Step 2 – The Problem: Sin Separates Us

God created us in His own image to have an abundant life. He did not make us as robots to automatically love and obey Him. God gave us a will and freedom of choice. We choose to disobey God and go our own willful way. We still make this choice today. This results in separation from God.

The Bible says:

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:23

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 6:23

Our choice results in separation from God. People have tried in many ways to bridge this gap between themselves and God...

The Bible says:

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death."
Proverbs 14:12

"But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear."
Isaiah 59:2

No bridge reaches God... except one.

Step 3 – God’s Remedy: The Cross

Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the grave. He paid the penalty for our sin and bridged the gap between God and people.

The Bible says:

"For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
1 Timothy 2:5

"For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God."
1 Peter 3:18

"But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 5:8

God has provided the only way... Each person must make a choice...

Step 4 – Our Response: Receive Christ

We must trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and receive Him by personal invitation.

The Bible says:

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me."
Revelation 3:20

"But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God."
John 1:12

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Romans 10:9

Will you receive Jesus Christ right now?

Here is how you can receive Christ:

We suggest a prayer like this one:

"Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I want to turn from my sins, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe He died for my sins and that You raised Him to life. I want Him to come into my heart and to take control of my life. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow Him as my Lord from this day forward. In Jesus' Name, amen."
